SAGE Veterinary Centers expands doctor-led, medicine-first care model through new partnership with Veterinary Vision

SAGE Veterinary Centers (“SAGE”), the leading specialty and emergency veterinary organization on the West Coast, is pleased to announce they have added two new partner locations with Veterinary Vision, the top veterinary ophthalmology practice in the San Francisco Bay area, to expand service offerings and provide patients with the best comprehensive specialty veterinary care possible.

Established over 27 years ago, Veterinary Vision has clinics in San Carlos and San Francisco that treat over 3,100 patients and perform more than 12,000 examinations annually. The five board-certified ophthalmologists diagnose and treat conditions involving the eyes and associated structures. Eye diseases in animals often present with symptoms such as loss of vision and ocular pain. Like SAGE, Veterinary Vision is committed to providing the highest standard of veterinary care and believes in continual learning by sharing knowledge through continuing education and collaborating with primary veterinarians to improve the lives of pets and their people.

“Veterinary Vision is excited to join with SAGE Centers, widely known to be the leading specialty veterinary service provider in Northern California, to help deliver comprehensive patient care to pets. Partnering with the SAGE team and incorporating ophthalmology into the wide range of specialty services provided at SAGE Centers is a natural evolution that will allow us to optimize outcomes for ophthalmic emergencies, coordinate care for patients presenting with ocular manifestations of diseases affecting other organs, and coordinate complicated patient management with anesthesia and surgery departments when needed,” said Dr. Cynthia Cook, partner at Veterinary Vision.

“SAGE and Veterinary Vision are uniquely aligned in cultural values. Working as referral partners, SAGE and Veterinary Vision have become regarded as best-in-class specialty practices with an unwavering commitment to promoting medical excellence and quality care that has inspired the trust veterinarians have placed with both organizations for over two decades.

People are our most important asset, and we are both delighted and honored to welcome the doctors and staff of Veterinary Vision into the SAGE family,” said Gina Del Vecchio, SAGE Chief Executive Officer.

Wendi Velando Rankin, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Oncology), SAGE’s Chief Medical Officer, stated “This partnership is very exciting for both organizations. It expands SAGE’s portfolio of emergency and specialty services in the region and provides Veterinary Vision with resources to meet the growing demand for progressive pet care.”
